I tell you life is interesting. Life is a journey. You take steps in this direction, you take steps in that direction. Soon you get lost along the way and sometimes you fall down. But I tell you, there is sometimes in life where you fall down and you feel like you don’t have the strength to get back up. Then fear comes in; maybe you have doubt in your life, maybe you don’t know for sure what’s going to be happening in the future and it scares you. Maybe you’re worried about what people think of you, what people say about you. Just that fear paralyzes you and I just want to ask you today. Do you think you have hope?
There are somethings in life that are out of our control that we can’t change, hence we got to live with. The choice that we have though is either to give up or keep on going. I will try nine hundred and ninety-nine times to get up and if I fail nine hundred and ninety-nine times and I give up, do you think I’m ever going to get up? No. But if I fail, I try again and again and again: For as long as I try, there is always that chance of getting up. And it is not the end until you’ve given up. Anyone can climb out of a dungeon, one inch at a time.
You will fail at some point in your life, accept it. You will lose, you will embarrass yourself, you will s*k at some point and you have to accept it because that’s life. Some failure in life is inevitable. It is impossible to live without failing at something. Unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all. In which case, you fail by default. Nelson Mandela once said,
“There is no passion for being found playing small and settling for a life that is less than the one you’re capable of living.”
To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. Nothing in life is worthwhile unless you take risks. As you start out, to know what you want, to understand why you are doing it, to dedicate every breath in your body, to achieve what you feel and what you want to accomplish. So you got to get out there and give it everything you got, whether it’s your time, your talent or your treasures. It may be frightening but at the same time, it will also be rewarding. In whatever you do, the chances you take and the faith that you have are the key things that are going to define you. What are you going to do with what you have?
